Our Standards for Clear Health Information

Healthpickdaily is a small general health-information publication. This page describes the standards we aim for, and states plainly what we do not have.

Our Editorial Purpose

Many people meet health information in fragments: a headline, a social post, a number on a label. We write readable summaries of general guidance so that readers can understand a topic well enough to ask better questions. Our aim is clarity, not persuasion, and we try never to make a topic sound simpler or more certain than it is.

Editorial Independence

Journal briefs and tools are editorial content. They are not advertisements, and we do not accept payment to feature a product, treatment or provider in them. If sponsored or promotional material is ever added, it will be labeled clearly and kept visually separate from editorial content. Today, this website carries no sponsored content.

Medical Review Policy

No formal medical review board is being represented. Healthpickdaily does not currently have physician reviewers, licensed clinician reviewers or institutional affiliations, and no brief is marked as clinically reviewed.

Our intended standard is that anything presented as medically reviewed would name the reviewer, their credentials and the date of review, and would only be labeled that way after the review actually took place. Until then, every brief is described as general information drawn from public sources.

Fact-Checking Standards

  • Every specific figure, such as minutes, milligrams or percentages, should trace to a named source.
  • If a figure cannot be verified, it is removed instead of rounded or guessed.
  • Source links should point to the publishing organization, and the claim should match what the source says.
  • Words such as “may” and “generally” are kept where the source is not definitive.

Research Sourcing

We prefer U.S. public-health agencies, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health, recognized clinical and professional organizations, and peer-reviewed research where it is relevant. We avoid anonymous posts, sellers of products and sources that cannot be checked. Source notes link to organization pages, which may be updated after a brief is written.

Evidence and Limitations

Well established

Broad guidance supported by long-standing evidence and consistent across major agencies.

Emerging

Promising findings that may change as studies accumulate. We describe these cautiously.

Unresolved

Questions where experts disagree or evidence is thin. We say so rather than choose a side.

Calculator and Tool Methodology

Our tools use plain arithmetic that is shown on the Tools page. They are website-defined and different from validated clinical instruments.

Feature Healthpickdaily tools Validated clinical instruments
Formula Simple and fully visible Developed and tested in studies
Purpose Reflection and planning Defined clinical use
Can diagnose No Only with professional interpretation

Corrections and Updates

If you see an error, tell us which brief, which statement and, if you can, which source says otherwise, using the Contact page or support@healthpickdaily.org. Material that may be outdated is meant to be re-checked against current agency guidance, and corrected or removed if it no longer holds.

What Healthpickdaily Does Not Promise

  • We do not diagnose conditions or predict disease.
  • We do not prescribe treatments, medicines or doses.
  • We do not guarantee any health outcome.
  • We do not replace a qualified healthcare professional.
  • We do not claim regulatory approval, certification or endorsement.

Reader Trust and Responsible Health Communication

We try to earn trust by being specific about what we know, honest about what we do not, and clear about who we are: a small publication without clinical staff. We avoid fear-based framing, invented testimonials and unsupported claims. If our practices change, this page will change with them.
